I am curious if there is a tutorial on how to put a full back piece onto a V3/M3 texture.I have tried to no avail and have little hair left.I can apply them in Photoshop no problem to thighs and flat areas witrh no seams of course, but the back is killling me.any help would be greatly appreciated as i have been struggling with this off and on for a couple weeks now. Thanks in advance for any help that can be given, you may save me from premature baldness:P -S74

The 3rd generation characters are notoriously difficult to tattoo across teh back - the back seam doesn't line up perfectly causing seaming issues iirc.

Others tried creating the tattoos on Generation 2 models and running them through the texture convertor, but I believe that caused a mirroring effect. The tutorial above is for a P4 character or even a second generation DAZ model, BTW.

If you have texture convertor, easiest way to make tattoo is to make it first to v2 or M2 use just tattoo in that place of the map with solid fill background you can remove later, just convert it to V3 or M3 bring it back to your PS and remove that solid fill of the background, just move this tattoo layer to your base texture, reduce opacity and turn layer mode to multiple and reduce opacity as pleased ;) it has worked great in my work.

Unfortunately i no longer have M2 or V2 or the converter that you speak of,there is alot of tweaking involved i know for sure, maybe Daz has something over there.thanks again for the help.

Wasn't there a method a long way back of using "Create Perspective UVs" of the grouping tool that was used to place tattoos over the shoulder seams on the Millenium 1/2 figures? I can't rember how it goes.

bookmark -- no info to add, but I'd love to do some bodypainting across Vicky's back.

oh my thats really challenging lol tried my hand on that one night it went like this: putting tatoo on where i thought v3s back supposed to be and rendered. after that for hours one pixel left two pixels up -> render ... going back to my graphics app 3 pixel downwards 1 pixel right -> render. spend the wohle night with 'pixelshiftng' and couldnt get them dam tatoo pieces together. so bookmark

Blender is a free software. now you can paint in 3D with textures and images.
http://www.blender.org/

here is a free tutorial that shows you how you can texture your model. if you want you can use this tutorial to make a tatoo on the body. why this tutorial? because the software is free and because you can do it over seams. we know that seams a a big problem when it comes to texturing.

I second Blender 2.49b as an option (it's what I use for most of my texturing) but you may want to take a look at Decal Master. It's simpler out of the box because of the way the DAz figures are mapped.

@lisarichie: It would be nice if Decal Master was still available. Do you know where one might find it?

Dang! I missed the line saying that! Sorry.

Looks like it has migrated to the other main Poser/DS store.
