Has anyone else tried ShaderWorks Library Manager for Poser 8?

I find that it really speeds things up compared to the P8 Library.

I can now select 6 clothing items and load&Conform them with just 1 click.
It also show the content icons in horizontal rows

My first impression was..... wow, this looks cluttered and overcomplicated. I've looked at it much better, but I do prefer Dimension3D's eXtended Library.

  1. Navigation. There's an aweful lot of clicking going on before you get anywhere, just like with the P8 original libraries. With XL there's is a lot less clicking, libraries expand automatically,  saving a lot of clicking and time. XL gives you various methods for navigating through libraries and has everything within reach, without the need of scrolling and moving the mouse around half of the screen.
  2. Space.... the library takes up way to much space. It's inside Poser, while XL is outside/seperate of poser, giving you a lot more workspace. I don't want a library to up over half of my workspace.
  3. No search available. XL offers an excellent search function, ShaderWorks Library Manager is missing that and that's a big one. Search is so handy, especially if you have more content then is good of you, which most of us have.
  4. Logic. With ShaderWorks Library Manager you seem to need to read a helpfile to know what's really going on. XL is logic, ShaderWorks Library Manager seems overcomplicated and getting in the way of workflow.

My conclusion....... eXtended Library offers a few more features then ShaderWorks Library Manager does, is costs less, seems a lot more easy to use efficient and doesn't take away workspace.

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

I found there is a lot of clicking in XL too.
I don't like having to navigate every time I want to change from Figure to Pose..., and then maybe to another runtime... argh.
Workflow slowed down to a crawl.

Do you have the XL update? You can go from pose to figure (or any other part of the current runtime) in one click with the update.

I use Advanced Library (http://neocron.lunarpages.com/library/) - it's free and works great...

Does Dimension3D's XL work on a Mac?

I have the D3D xl thingy and I like it, but all shaderworks stuff I have got in the past works really well too, so I will get this and try it.
