Subject: Old problem is new again in C7 pro

DocMatter ( ) posted Sun, 04 January 2009 at 11:03 PM · edited Sun, 12 July 2026 at 2:25 AM

A while back I had a problem with V4 joints when I imported a Poser scene into C6  (using the native importer).  See thread
http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2742436.

I got that fixed in C6 by setting the joints to "Ball joint", but its happening again in C7 and all the fixes that worked in C6 don't work now.
I normally don't import scene from Poser anymore, but I'm using Poser for the Dynamic clothing until Carrara gets its own (hopefully!).
Anyone else having this problem?

When you import try unchecking "import deformers," that works for me.

V4 has a bunch of helper magnets for poser and DS, but they aren't needed in Carrara.

Can you delete V4 from the scene and re-insert her from the browser? You can then apply a saved poser pose on her and get her back to the same position.
C7 has been working fine for me doing it this way, with a window popping up asking if I want to turn off limits. (yes)

Sueposer -- I tried using your method and normally it works fine.  The only problem I have is the conforming clothing that imports with V4.  I haven't found a really good method yet (except trial and error) at getting the new V4 from the browser to line up with the clothing's position.  I can get her in the same pose, but their locations are different.

Krewz -- I'll try your method later today when I get back home.

Thanks both for your suggestions!

Krewz -- Your method worked great!  Thanks a lot!
