Can you post a picture?? Looks that the basic shader was changed... but I am not shure.

The default shader is just that, it is a default shader which the system uses kind of as a blank slate. If you increased shininess or reflection, or even highlights on the default. It would only affect objects which still were using the default shader. Creating new shaders for them or assigning premade ones would solve that. It is difficult to diagnose without seeing the problem. If you can snag a screen shot, or better yet, do a quick full render at like 640x480 and send it up, then we could probably help more.
Well, I fixed my problem. I went into the specific shader for one of the clothing items and the highlight had a grey color in it. I changed it to black, and the reflected highlights were gone. Thanks Sparrownightmare, I did figure out that the default shader only applies to objects without an assigned shader, and therefore has little effect.
Interestingly, the setting of shininess (which I expected to be part of the problem) seems to have little effect. I tried setting this high and low, with no discernable change.
Different colors plugged in for the highlight do react diffently depending on lighting. For clothes, it must stay toward black to avoid shine. Naturally, if you want a plastic or leathery surface, a lighter tone here would help.
Interesting.

I am having a problem with Carrara suddenly. Everything I try to render comes out shiny with distracting highlights. This was not formerly the case, so I suspect I have screwed something up. I have played with some of the shaders, and wonder if that could be it. There seems to be a default shader and I am not certain whether that effects all surfaces. The funny thing is, even clothing (which should not be reflective) now has shiny reflective highlights. I have tried different lights, angles, shadow strength, all to no avail.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
