Subject: can somebody post a C7Pro render or animation here?

can somebody post a C7Pro render or animation here?
I already downloaded the items but wanted to wait for the bug testers to pummel it.

I saw one render in gallery here, but it didn't look like a 3d render, more like a
gouache or charcoal sketch, very well done using an art critic's criteria IMVHO,
hence I was unclear on using said technique in a 3d app.

I know about the Daz thread.

Look the Carrara gallery here or at Daz to see renders done in Carrara... theres noting new about render in version 7, so you can see a lot of work that can be done in 7 more easy then in version 6 right now.

Here is a quick animation I did using aniblocks exported from DazStudio, and a really quick hair animation to top it off. The hair seems to be working better, so I'll do more renders when I have a better hair model setup :)

Crossing fingers C8 will have better rendering.

Shonner, I am shure that C8 will be a big surprise... look at those pages about the beta, theres a lot of declaration from the development team about the future releases.

Do you have a link?

o.k. thx fr the vid, jeff - not bad IMVHO!
good hair motion, and he's giving his 8-pak a workout.
so that's why they wanted us to download DS with C7 - to get the free anibloks?
I ain't ever used nor installed DS.

p.s. I dunno why youse guys are complaining about the C6/C7 renderer - it's a real
bargain for the money IMVHO.  it's not just the rendering engine - it's also the thing
between keyboard and chair that limits whether a render is any good AFAIK.

Thanks Miss Nancy - I'm working a a much better one now. The hair in C7 definitely needs different settings than in C6. My next animation will showcase the hair - a long style on V4 with some force in the scene to blow it around. It should be pretty cool if it all works out :)

I agreed with you about the render engine as well :)

That's strange... I thought you were rather fond of Carrara's renderer?  What's changed?

Out of the box, Carrara doesn't render people at all well.  Still waiting for real SSS.

I don't recall anything exceptional or anything much at all being said about future versions.
Map support for sss would be great and real layers support all the way thru, as well. Currently there seems to be a pervasive GI render crash bug they can't seem to isolate. C renderer is pretty nice, with a bit of work and it could be really great.

No need to think outside the box....
    Just make it invisible.
