Hi community,

I'm from Germany and first i'd like to say, that my english isn't very good, i'm new with carrara and i'm searching for some tutorials of info's that can show me the basics of poly by poly modeling with carrara for example a head or a car perhaps someone of this community can help me. I'm using Carrara 5.1 Pro

Welcome to Carrara world Dr. House. First take a look at the manual that talk about Vertex Modeler Room to better understand what every tool can do and after that you can see some tutorials here:

I'm not 100% new i've done some things in carrara here is my current project
i've done these things with the boxmodeling method now i want to do smoething with poly by poly and for this reason i want to know how to start such a thing.

Really cool! I think this forum that I send to you is the best place to find about poly by poly information, but I really like to use the box way.

Carrara also imports quite a few formats, provided you have more experience with other tools. Of course knowing how well that will help depends on where you're starting out from.

It looks like Carrara has an ok modeling enviroment, but dedicated modeling programs such as Hexagon, Silo, or even Wings3D would provide more robust tools for that particular aspect. It wouldn't hurt to research them, provided Carrara's modeling room doesn't quite do what you need.
