Subject: IK import Problem...

Doran ( ) posted Tue, 11 September 2007 at 5:49 AM · edited Wed, 29 July 2026 at 6:26 AM

My daughter just got Carrera 6 Pro and there is already a problem. Both of us are skilled in using Poser and having a lot of animation files, we wanted to import them in to C6 Pro and watch it render them in record time. Unfortunately, C6 Pro is refusing to acknowledge the IK chains in the animations, all of them. What is the issue here? What do we do? I even checked the IK box and still, nothing. The reference guide even states that Poser IK chains can be imported in any pz3 format animation file. Any advice?

Hello out there?

I dunno, man. there are two settings in c6pro modifiers for IK. haven't had much luck with 'em. transposer doesn't work in my case. I suspect that the IK chains hafta be reset in carrara.

Hi Doran, I don't know how I missed your post earlier. Apologies for the delay. It looks like there are a couple of IK bugs in this release version of C6 that weren't there in some of the earlier beta's. I've reported some and I know that there are others as well. I know that the bugs are being squashed as we speak but that doesn't make it eaiser to use in the short term. I've re-built some IK chains myself for an assignment but if you're patient and don't need to create an animation right away, you might want to wait just a bit and let a couple of things get fixed. The first patch is scheduled for this month but are a few days left before the 30th... :-/ Mark

Thanks for the heads up on the patches. I think I will wait for them to be released. That's great news. Again, thanks :)
