Subject: Freak is teeeeny tiiiiiiny in carrara 6

jackhalsey ( ) posted Tue, 04 September 2007 at 11:44 PM · edited Wed, 29 July 2026 at 2:09 AM

Am I missing something or does work carrara 6 not work as well as carrara 6? I have pz scenes I created in Poser 7 that Carrara 5 will import but Carrara will NOT.  Plus I have tried to convert them in Carrara 5 to a car file and then import that into carrara 6 but they come in very tiny.

Is there a workaround to his and it seems like a major bug somebody should have caught.

Plus do I need to install the render node if I do not have a render farm>

Thank you.

..and I was so looking forward to this.....

Hi Jack, The default (medium) scale in C6 is much larger than the default scale in C5. So, things do look like they import smaller than before if you don't change the defaults. Additionally, there does seem to be a bug at this time where certain premade (DAZ and Poser) content does not respect scene scaling. I've seen this in the bug tracker and know it is being remedied. There are still some issues with P7 importing well. C5 did not officially support P7 and neither does C6. So, there will be some problems, especially if you've involked anything from Talk, Walk designer or the P7 NLA editor. In the cases where I've had P7/C6 issues, for me, it's just easier to quickly rebuild the scene in C6 - and the end results are much better. BTW, C6 is not the only program that has issues with P7... ;-) You don't need to install the Node if you don't have a render farm with another computer. In fact, I'd recommend to NOT install the Node on the same machine as C6. Mark
