Subject: Problem controlling my camera

udgang99 ( ) posted Tue, 08 May 2007 at 1:24 PM · edited Sat, 28 March 2026 at 5:47 PM

Sometimes I'm having real big problems with my camera (movement) inside poser (7).
Like, when I turn around, I'm not "standing" in one place, it's more like I'm a swing, and suddenly I'm a whole nother place ... really, really frustating! I want it to be like when I'm playing a "first person shooter"-game - when I turn around, I STAY in one place.

I'm not sure I'm explaining this right ... hmmm ... ask me if you need more info on the problem.

I hope someone who's the problem, and can tell me exactly what to do to fix it! ;-)

Dunno if "7" is like that, but isn't your view set to be through the camera? If it's not, then you might get much the same effect. Just a guess. Lou.

I usually use "main camera" ... should I NOT do that???

What Camera. Each Camera is designed for a default focus Position. The Main is around the Center of the default scene. The Pose is focus on the selected figure. Aux is also on the center of the scene. etc.... The one that is not is the Dolly Camera. Select that and then adjust the Yaw for spinning around, or Pitch for up and down.

Well, the first thing to do, would be to be sure of which camera you're looking thru, then be sure that you've selected the right option.... seems to me that you want the option to rotate your camera view, rather than move your camera... rotate instead of "orbit"..... pitch and yaw will be like "look up / down"   "Look left / Right"...    the left and right is more like turning your head, if you were an Owl. Like ratscloset said, if you want an 'FPS'-style camera movement, then you need to use the dolly camera. All the others have their centres of rotation set at a point outside of the camera's "body".

Yes,  as ratscloset said, use the Dolly Camera.
