Subject: Stupid question of the day regarding .tiff files & selections

dlk30341 ( ) posted Mon, 24 April 2006 at 2:55 PM · edited Thu, 16 July 2026 at 10:33 AM

I've tried saving a render out as a.tiff but when brought into PSP8 there is no load selection available.

I this case I was trying to render out 1 tree to add in postwork & I couldn't load selection.

What have I missed?

Thanks :)

Did you use any g-buffers or an alpha? Could have a problem w/ support in psp8.  The compression(LZW) might be a problem, but most support this.

No need to think outside the box....

I had all compression turned off & did not use g-buffer.  I'm used to just saving as .tiff & having selection there...never had this problem before ...so I assume I've missed somthing :) I tried in other apps as well to no avail.

Yeah it seems odd. I would close C out and save the render again. I didn't try another program, but gimp loaded it with a couple of minor errors about sorted tags (I get that from other tifs tho) The other message was odd. Bad value 1 for extra samples. However, it loaded fine with both alpha maps/premultiplied.

The printing function in carrara won't work for me. It spits out a page w/ a title on it. Never have got that to work. Can you print out of carrara?

Never tried Ren - Mem...nothing worth printing out yet LOL.

Will mess with the .tiff problem again later today. Was up to darn late last night...watching the breaking news.....still not awake after 1 pot of coffee LOL
