I just got an email from Eovia that they have lowered the prices on C4. The standard upgrade is now $99 and the Pro Upgrade is now $169. Off hand does anyone know what the prices used to be for upgrade? I guess 5.0 is right around the corner. I have seen this tactic with eon, and other companies, before a new release. Just thought I would pass it on in case you missed it... Regards, Paul

When they start offering C5 as a free upgrade if you buy C4 now, then it's coming.

I suspect Eovia has a typical 18 month development cycle. So I think it might be announce probably by January or February of 2006.

Are these new discounts good deals? I realize C4 has much to offer over C3, but every version has driven the price higher. I don't remember what the original prices were for C4... Regards, Paul

The cost of C4 was about double the cost of C3. I had C1 then upgraded to C3. I can't remember the cost but I believe I paid less than $100 for the upgrade.

I still have RayDream, C1, and C2. Those versions are buggy and missing esssential tools. I could not complain much aboout newer version with new price. Price is set for the company to make revenue to pay all portions for development and their pocket to take homee. I do not want them to drink just the milk and bread. Let them have some nice meals. I, as a buyer customer, can make the decision to purchase new version if it is a good investment for my business. If it is good then I will buy it. I still hate the shift key that I have to use for modeling in vertex room. I can complain about it to Eovia developer team. ;)

Hey, perhaps Eovia will double the price again and you can pay $1,000 for Carrara 5. Yeah, then they can really feast on leg of lamb. Wouldn't that be great!

Oh yeah it would be great, if they want a jar of mint jelly for lamb. Tell them to get rid of shift key function! ;)
