Subject: Eovia - Want to betatest Hexagon?

Totyo ( ) posted Thu, 25 August 2005 at 4:45 AM · edited Sun, 12 July 2026 at 12:35 AM

Attached Link: Betatest instructions

Hi,

For the next betatest cycle, we are currently looking for new betatesters.

If you want to apply, you must have a valid license of Hexagon.
Having Carrara or using any other 3D package is better!

We are looking for users who already have good 3D skills. No beginners will be accept (in fact, not for this betatest cycle)

All instructions and information are available on the following subject on Eovia3D.net: http://www.eovia3d.net/showthread.php?t=4104

If you have any question about the betatest, please, reply in the eovia3D subject above. I won't reply questions here.

Regards,

Thomas Roussel - Eovia Betatest manager

Why only people with Hexagon licenses? Maybe people who don't own Hexagon can provide some valid insights as well. You might learn something about why they didn't buy Hexagon, for one thing.

Yes, I should think they are more likely to get people with 'good 3D skills' if they take out the 'Hexagon licence only' limitation. Except it's not clear whether it IS a limitation as apparently using another 3D app 'is better'. For example, I use Amapi Pro, Carrara 4 Pro and Silo. Now is that better than owning Hexagon? ;)

They already have testers that use other applications. Now those testers are using Hexagon. Also if you go to the link that Thomas posted you will find out that it is a beta for updating Hexagon. When they get to 2.0 than they will include more testers. :-) Later Ringo

I am with Falconperigot. I did not buy Hexagon because it don't have some stuff I was looking for. I think it is bad idea with 'Hexagon License Only' limitation for betatest. It is possible that Hexagon team only want devoted betatesters and devoted customers to buy it. It reminds me of myself as a devoted customer with Carrara's limitations. :)
