Ok, After the posts that Gavotte has been making, I decided I'd try to make a diamond myself and it does turn out to be about a 20 to 40 minute job. Give it a whirl and show us what you make! -Kix

Here's mine. I made the diamond in about 3 minutes. Setting the scene and the lighting took much longer. I ended up using a modified version of C3's default 3 point lighting scene and added some glare. --First 10 minute challenge for me--

Here's mine. I think I have to call it a "mock" diamond but it only took a few minutes. Like tkane the renderr set up was the time consuming part.

Took me five minutes to model and a few more to get the right reflections. No lights, only HDRI on GI mode.

This is also a "mock" diamond.

I have been meaning to post this for some time but got distracted for several days doing my taxes... and that was just the start of my woes. But enough of that.

Here I was woking with the Irredacence option available from Shoestring shaders. Done with a single overhead light. No GI, no ambient light.
