Subject: Carrara Studio Handbook

Good day all, I am new to 3d. I've never done it before, but I am not new to renderosity. I have been through the gallery almost weekly since my days in college. I have a question though, I recently bought carrara 4.0 pro for myself and was a little lost on the interface and work flow. I have seen the Carrara Studio 3 Handbook recommended on a few sites I have visited. Is the handbook applicable at all to carrara v4? If not what is a good starting point, I know some basics and thats about it. I guess what I am saying is I need help. Thank you all for your time.

The CS3 Handbook is a good start and mostly applicable to C4. You should also consider 3DXtract which has excellent tutorials and articles.

Hope to see you posting soon!

There are not too many changes from 3 to 4 that would make the 3 handbook obsolete. The interface is basicly the same, but with a few evolutions and a few new features. I haven't heard any "grapevine" news about a C4 book yet so if there will be one it is probably months away.... Go ahead and buy it. Just reading it once thru will help a great deal!

The book picks up where the manual falls short. Really useful if you're just starting. The projects are clearly explained and there are tutorial files on the cd. Mark

Yaaa Mike did a great job on the handbook... almost wish e'd do a add-on? for some of the new features of C4. but yes, the book can help you out a lot!!!

Hexagon, Carrara, Sculptris, and recently Sketchup.

Good evening ladies and gents, I guess that settles it, I'll be picking up the book shortly. Thank you all that posted, I hope in the future to be knowledgeable enough to participate in future discussions. Thanks again...
