Hello, just got my new software carrara 3 back and starting to learn it. Want I would like to request is a simple pendulum tutorial. I am just in the learn process and everytime I make one with bones the shape of the ball and chain deforms and looks really bad when I pan in 2d plain. Any help please.

I don't have a tutorial, but this is how I would achieve this. I would move the hot point of your pendulum the the top axis that will be your rotation axis. I would move the pendulum to the top right most angle that it would move to, then I would go to my Timeline and move "scrub" time to the left. (at this point is not relevant how much since you can tweak it later), this will enter a new key-frame once you move your object to the new position, then do the next position by following these same steps, and so on. Once you have finished with the hole motion from left to right you can copy the key-frames by holding your option/alt key in your keyboard and moving the coped key-frame to the new position in the time line.

Thanks much for the idea. I was going at it with trying to make it to hard. This helps much and gives me more ideas. Thank you. netstile

Also, another way to do it is by applying physics and forces. In fact, in the C3 manual on page 508, there is a pedulum example. If you use forces, then you can skip the key framing part and just let the computer do the thinking for you :)

I was looking at that and new that may be possible, I will practice on this. When I tried I started to use bones to create a path and this was dificult because it would warp and bend. With Both your ideas it will be a good practice. I was thinking of this for a grandfather clock. Thanks again
