Is there anyway, or anyone, using Poser and Carrara together for animation projects. I would rather do char animation in Poser and import into Carrara some how...is this possible? (I know there is Poser & tSp integration as well as with LW, Cinema & Max with the Pro PAck, but I would like to use C2) Chris

Chrisdmd, You should first look at the way Natural Pose integrates into Bryce. The same thing might be possable using Carrara as the target rather than Bryce. Unless you really understand how to do this in the programming languages MSVC,MSVB etc, you would have to do such a thing manually, starting with an animated obj file. Aldaron posted a tutorial on how to do this manually with Poser to Bryce. You would have to convert the information to use with Carrara, but I can forsee the possability of converting to Carrara . If you get it to work you might wish to post a tutorial. Some familiarity with the wavefront obj format would be required either way. Currently I'm looking into how to automate commands using MSVC but I don't see me getting good enough to make a utility to do this in the near future. You might also find out the username of the author of Natural Pose and ask him if he has any plans to expand Natural Pose for use in Carrara. - TJ

I don't know if anyone plans to write a plug-in for Carrara, but konan in the Poser group has written some standalone apps for importing Poser animations into Max, Bryce, TS... He has posted a message requesting input on what other programs he should write his application for.

If he receives enough emails requesting Poser2Carrara, maybe he'll offer something.
