Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Joanna. My Rendo friends are caling me Jo and I live in Athens, Greece. Im a 70s born child, as I proudlly like to call myself:). I have studied Arts in Athens University of fine Arts and I've worked professionally with traditional painting and book illustrations. Eventually I taught myself Digital and 3D techniques. Im spending most of my time working and learnnig new programs and digital techniques. I love animals, watching movies, having TV shows marathons and online shopping sprees! :)
How was 2014 for you, and what goals might you have set for the New Year?
It's been a very busy year and I hope the next one to be as much productive but with less anxiety.
Can you give us any hints as to what you might currently be working on?
Im working on a new male character for Michael 4 and his hair sets.
You've been honored with the VOM award several times now. What do you think is key in your continued success as a vendor?
I think because I'm trying to give my best on each new product I'm creating, my work is well accepted by my clients and express their needs. At this point, I would like to express a Huge Thanks to Renderosity community, for their trust and continuing support all of these years!
How did you originally get started in this career choice? What made you decide to become a vendor?
I wanted to envolve my book illustrations and to have full control of the printed quallity. I started to create Poser characters and making morphs and small models for the needs of the illustrations I was producing, but when the the financial crisis hit my country, I Thought to try my skills as a vendor here in Renderosity. The acceptance in the Renderosity store really changed my life and helped me to find a new wonderful Job as a vendor.
What do you feel you gained most personally from your experience as a content creator over the years?
I've met a lot of new close friends in this community and I have learnt so many new things. I'd also like to believe I have evolved as an artist.
Could you list some current favorites among the products you've created and tell us a little bit about them?
I dont have any current favorite, I enjoyed creating each one of them, I think I love them all:)
Where do you get your inspiration for your products?
Everywhere, from a picture I saw somewhere, or in a magazine, something I saw on TV, a movie, Greek culture and art, other artists' work, ideas from friends, suggestions and feedback from my Renderosity clients and members.
What is currently in your digital toolset, and what could you not do without?
I cannot live without Blacksmith 3D, Hexagon, Photoshop. These are the main tools I'm using for years and of course Poser, as a Poser content creator! Im using many other litle programs and utilities and lately ZBrush.
What would you offer as best advice for those looking to get started in content creation?
They should start creating the content they like most and expresses them, be very careful with the quality of their products, and pay lots of attention to presentation, with quality renders.
What might we find you doing when not at work?
I enjoy the company of my friends and family, we have fun watching movies and having long dinners. I like to take care of my neighborhood cats and dogs, playing with my cats and since summer I have a new member in my familly, my Puppy dog, which I love very much despite the fact he's running all over the house and destroying everything...LOL
Any final words or advice for digital artists?
I will repeat my self once again by saying, work with your heart and truly enjoy what you're creating.
