Travel along the footpath through the Forest of Reshenkeil is long, and seems to vary for each traveler. There are stories of the journey through the forest lasting anywhere from a single rise of the sun to weeks. It is as if the forest, despite the path, was testing each party who passed. There are no signs to warn travelers to stay upon the path, but there is little to encourage them to wander off, for the thick undergrowth and the gnarled twisting branches of huge trees form an almost solid wall, a natural deterrent. There is also no place to set camp except where one stands upon the footpath. Should one wish to lie down and sleep, on must lie lengthwise in the middle of the path and hope no one trips over them. There are no seen guards, but travelers often report that they had the distinct impression that they were being watched both on their way into the 'city' and their way out, even though they saw no one http://www.mernac.com/modules/mernac/story.php?id=404&aid=459
