The Legends of Mernac web
site is proud to sponsor it's first contests on Renderosity!
|
Contest Outline
In this contest we are looking for high fantasy art that
“fits” or matches a specific story (or Legend) that can be
found on The Legends of Mernac
web site. This may be any of the stories or “Sapling Stories”
(teasers) which can be found on that web site. Artists are asked to
review the stories until they find one (or a section of one) that
inspires them to submit art to illustrate that story. It is the
artist’s choice whether to “remain true” to the exact
descriptive wording in the story, or provide their own creative
perspective (in the form of Art) that they feel completes the
story.
As the artists contemplate their submissions, they
should be aware that many of the art submissions will be used to
inspire writers to submit further stories against that art, so art
submissions that are visually appealing, stimulating, provocative
and particularly those art pieces that “tells a story” (or
hints at one), will be the most successful.
About Mernac The Legends of Mernac is a freely
available expression of art and entertainment dedicated to high
fantasy. It features a series of interrelated high fantasy stories
that all occur in the same setting, or world. All the stories will
also be illustrated by digital art. Though any art medium is
welcome, the majority is expected to be 3D renderings such as those
created by Poser, DAZ Studio, Bryce, Vue, 3DS MAX, Maya and the
like. All art must be submitted to a specific story and will be
required to “match” or “fit” the story. What will be
created is a never-ending series of stories and art work with
unlimited branches, all interconnected to other stories and art by
a series of links and commonalities. All this content will be based
on The Legends (stories) of Mernac.

- How well does the art "fit" the world of Mernac?

unethical/illegal of course).
- Mernac.com or Renderosity has the right at any time to
disqualify and/or remove any image for any reason. This will more
than likely never be done but will apply for images that simply do

- The winner will be selected by a judging panel from among the
images with the overall highest scores.
- The judging panel's decision is final.
