Los Angeles Chapter
welcomes the most honored computer graphics work of the
year
Los Angeles, California, USA – September 7, 2010 – The Los
Angeles Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH will host a one night only event,
showcasing the world's finest animation and visual effects in a
special screening version of the "Electronic Theater" from the
SIGGRAPH 2010 Conference's Computer Animation Festival. This
special edit reel of feature work, art, science, broadcast and
games is brought to us by Computer Animation Festival Chair, Isaac
V. Kerlow and Technical Director Josh Grow. "I am always impressed
by the quantity and quality of submissions. They find a way to
consistently raise the bar every year, making the jury process
extremely difficult, but very rewarding" said Grow, who will be
present to provide the opening remarks.
This year's screening of festival highlights will include visual
effects clips from recent feature films "2012", "Alice in
Wonderland", and "Avatar", along with the latest in ground-breaking
short animated and visual effects films. Included will be "Best of
Show Award Winner "Loom", now eligible for an Academy Award
nomination.
