Renderosity would not be what it is now if it wasn't for-- not only our members-- but also our staff.

Every month we will be spotlighting a member of staff that is performing to the best of their abilities and someone who goes above and beyond for the community.

Staff Spotlight for November is: LuxXeon

LuxXeon is one of our Coordinators here at Renderosity. He is always ready to jump in and help his fellow team members, and members. LuxXeon creates helpful tutorials for the Community to learn and grow from. We are very thankful to have him not only as a part of our team but also as a valued member of Renderosity. We look forward to having him part of our team for many more years to come.

Please tell us a little about yourself:

I see you've been a member for 4 years; What introduced you to Renderosity?

Has it been 4 years already? Wow, how time flies! Well, my brother, Greg, has been a member of the site much longer than I have, and he got me involved. I'd been learning Autodesk 3dsMax, and he suggested there was a dedicated forum for Max users here which could use some fresh faces, so I joined specifically to participate in that forum. However, as time went on, I quickly discovered what a wonderful overall community exists here, and made several friends not only in the 3dsMax forum but in all areas of the site.

How long have you been creating art?

I've had a fascination with artistic and creative things as far back as I can remember. As far as the kind of stuff I do now, which is creating 3d models, I've been doing that for about 10 years off and on. However, it only became a passion and "career" over the course of the past 5 years or so.

What is your favorite work of art you created?

Hmm. That's a good question. I really don't consider the models I make works of art, although I do have some that I'm very proud of. So I'd have to say there is a render in my gallery here called "A Father's Workshop", which was a very personal piece I did a couple years ago. It originally started out as just another modeling exercise but developed into a really emotional and meaningful project. I ended up distributing many of the models I created for that render as freebies to the community (mostly as "thanks" for the support I'd been receiving), but the render itself had a much deeper meaning to me at the time.

What advice would you give to members who are just getting started with Renderosity?

Be supportive and try to help out others if they need it. Get involved with whatever artistic community you are part of here, and don't be afraid to participate in the forums. Renderosity has many wonderful niche forums that touch on all sorts of artistic interests, and most of them are filled with some very good people who are willing to help.

What do you enjoy most about being a Renderosity Staff member?

The most enjoyable thing is pretty much the same thing that inspired me to participate here in the first place, which is to assist others in a productive way, and hopefully make people feel comfortable to do the same.

Is there anything you would like to share with us that we may not know about you?

Well, I do have some commercial endeavors going on elsewhere that I won't get into now, but I just want to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has supported my free stuff here on Renderosity, and I'll always continue to pay it forward with free models and tutorials. Thanks!
