"The artist is here," Doria Gray's servant announces. "I see you have have already hung the picture," the artist says, as he enters the den. "I would have done it for you." "My servant hung it," Doria replies.. "I can't stop admiring it, and I didn't want it on the floor," she adds. "I am honored," he says. Have you maintained strict secrecy?" she asks. "Of course," he replies. I respect your wishes." "My demands," she says, correcting him. The artist bows his head . "Regarding the matter of compensation.... " he mutters, "I have waited a long time, and I have petite children to feed!" "I have seen your "petite children," she utters sarcastically. "They are well fed, plump.....and middle aged!" And then, she says "Did I not...ah....at your studio, "compensate" you? "But that was only half the compensation," he grins. "Perhaps the second and final payment----- would be in............. YOUR BED." Doria's places her hands on her hips. "No one must know of this, NO ONE!" "Of course," he bows, excitement brightening his wrinkled face.
