Who is coflek-gnorg?
My name is Dominik Lenardo (coflek-gnorg is silly combination of my nicknames). I'm 36 years old, happily married, proud father of one year old son. I live in small town in continental part of Croatia. I'm hard-core, video- games addict since 1987. I love to read books and watch movies (I prefer Sci-Fi, of course). I'm great fan of indie music (music is very important part of my creativity).
How long have you have you been involved in digital art?
Since 1987. I 'painted' pictures with joystick in 8 colors. In mid 90's I started to model stuff in 3D Studio 4 (DOS based version, looks so ancient now). In 2004. I opened my humble store on Renderosity.
What are you currently working on?
Well, I realized that artists love my 'construction-kit' products. I guess that's because possibility of building unique creation. Different end result for different artist. My new product will be 'construction kit' but I wont reveal nothing more :) . But, it will be my most detailed model so far.
What software do you use and why?
I create my models in 3DSmax (successor of 3D Studio). Mapping is done in UV mapper and painting in Photoshop. For complex models I use 'heavy artillery': Deep Paint 3D. For final adjustments I use Poser 5. Last, but not least, 'Objaction Scaler 3' - small program that helps me to convert .obj from Max to Poser in same dimensions.
Where do you find inspiration for your products?
Many people said to me that I have a vivid imagination. I guess that's because all the books I read and all the movies I seen. Now imagine "Blade Runner" and "Mad Max" with a little touch of "Aliens" and "Dune"! What a cocktail for a new design.
Do you have any advice for aspiring Digital Content Developers?
Be original! That's main thing. Use Your imagination, create something new. I know that's hard (I know that from my own experience) but You can't beat that feeling when You create something new and unique. Believe me, people will notice that. And... wear sunscreen ;)
How has this online Community (Renderosity) enhanced your work, relationships, and learning?
Renderosity is now very important part of my life. So many artists willing to help or seeking for advice, many friends ready for exchanging experience. One great community. I'm glad to be part of it.
Do you have any final words?
I would like to thank You all; Renderosity Team, my friends, my customers... Your support keep me going on my railroad of creativity, constantly accelerating. Especially, I would like to thank my wife for all patience, tolerance and endless support.
