• Gallery of the Week is the Deep Dream Generator Gallery. This free, online image application is being developed by Google. Originally released in 2015, DDG allows users to choose a variety of styles of image manipulation using deep learning algorithms. The results can be as bizarre or as subtle as you like.

• Maxon Computer is Renderosity Magazine's Core Partners Pro member. We begin extensive coverage of this excellent computer graphics company. Cinema 4D, BodyPaint, Cineware and Cineversity will all be topics for reviews, reports, news, articles and interviews in the coming year.

• Speaking of Maxon: Maxon Announces Cross-Platform GPU Rendering Collaboration. MAXON and AMD have reached a licensing agreement for the use of AMD's Radeon ProRender technology in MAXON's powerful and intuitive Cinema 4D application. Radeon ProRender's physically-based GPU rendering engine is built on platform-agnostic OpenCL architecture and will provide outstanding performance on both MacOS and Windows.

• Tryus Wong, Bambi Production Designer and Artist, Dies at 106. This remarkable artist, who overcame nearly impossible odds against asian american success, sketched and painted the original designs for Bambi. And although he is best known for this work, he was a powerful and skilled artist in his own right with many thoughtful works to his credit.

• Oculus launches Quill - a tool that enables illustrative storytelling in VR.
