motion 2014 Announced
July 13, 2014 11:54 pm
Now in it’s 8th year, motion returns to ABQ – The Land of Enchantment’s largest city. motion is one of North America’s leading innovative and uniquely intimate events – bringing together an ever expanding scope of the brightest and most creative minds for an annual celebration of who we are…creatives. motion takes you on a mind-bending three day ride – what we refer to as the TED talks of our industry. Filmed in front of a live studio audience filled with directors, creative directors, principals and partners, motion designers, vfx artists, writers, animators, graphic designers, composers and sound designers – each speaker is on stage for 18 creative minutes sharing their unique perspective on subjects they’re passionate about. Innovative ideas that revitalize the creative muse. Talks that // feed the creative brain //.
creativity and the moving image
motion is all about creativity and the moving image: motion pictures, vfx, motion graphics, and animation. From concept and storytelling, to previz and breakdowns – motion approaches creativity like none other. For those who thrive on creative conversation, we provide plenty of opportunities through extended lunch breaks and evening meetups at local restaurants and bars. By limiting the number of motion audience members we are able to provide a unique experience, uniting speakers and audience members who wish to take the conversation to the next level. Year after year, motion attendees cite the intimacy of the event as one of the most valuable aspects of being at motion.
And for directors, creative directors, principals and partners we offer the unheard of: the opportunity to meet your competition on neutral turf. Through a variety of exclusive opportunities, the competition comes together and gets to know each other as fellow creatives: sharing ideas, business strategies and friendships that last long beyond motion.
because you ‘get it’
As many who’ve attended motion in the past have said, you have to experience motion to ‘get it’. Creatives see the world differently. And that’s a good thing. Our views, ideas, the way we run our businesses – even how we create our art – is always in motion. We are the leaders and visionaries of a new paradigm, blazing trails and opening doors to an era where innovation and creativity are valued.
