Description

I'm on 'sabbatical', but I didn't want to miss Mike's birthday! (Faemike55) I looked at past years, and saw that Mike got dedis on not one, but two or three days. So I've concluded that Mike was born on 3 consecutive days, has 3 birthdays, gets 3 times as many gifts, and has 3 separate lives. (Not too shabby, dude!) I'm posting on the "middle" day to be safe... I don't know Mike very well, but I love his work. The first image I ever saw of his was a fractal where it was like someone had emptied-out a fractal tool-chest, and all these 'parts' were lying all over the place---only they were fractals. I loved it so much, I became his fan. I love his fractals, I love his invention, I love the wild and playful things he does with 3D, I love his play with perspective and "halls of mirrors," and wonderful surreal scenes. I love his sense of humor, which he puts into so much of his work. And of course there are his photographs; some of beauty, some like geographical studies, some of the day-to-day objects of his life, some with his postwork turning his images into scientific or archaeological studies...he seems to have no limit to his exploration or enjoyment as an artist. And he has a really positive presence in our galleries, which I appreciate greatly. On Zlata: Since I don't do 3D, I looked at one of his images and drew her (on paper) from the screen. And voila! A fully plagiarized Zlata! (Her arms were drawn with a mouse: My apologies!) Then I made 2 images---one, a painting; one, a fractal---and let Zlata "break through" them. (Like she broke into my gallery.) (It's corny, I admit, but it's the thought that counts...) Happy Birthday, Mike! It's been a pleasure being a member of your lair, and seeing how your fans love you and your work; and to see your imagination dance, all year round. I hope my un-fae-like offering pays homage to what you do here. Great joy to you, and thank you for being one of the real stalwarts for us---I've appreciated you presence here since the day I discovered you. A wonderful, inspired year your way, and many more after! Mark (a must in Full-Zoom...it's huge ((sorry!)) (I'll comment more this weekend...) --------------------------------------------------

I laughed when I read the title. A wonderful and heartfelt birthday wish for Mike and a superb gift in three panels. One for each birthday, I'm guessing.

One super duper collage of fine works my friend. Really love the mixture of Queen Zlata in the mix. I'm currently working on one also for our friend Mike. A thoughtful dedi and brilliant creations. And I agree with Mike on your commenting. No one goes into all the details you do. Many thanks.

Three birthdays. Now that's pretty cool. Three times as many goodies, as long as you don't age three times as fast. What a fun dedication and image. Full of life. Zlata seems to be right at home within your wild mix of colors and shapes. This is very creative and a happy birthday three times to Mike.

A glorious pastiche (one of your favorite words) of swimmingly-like images make their presence known in this colorful ice cube tray of assorted abstract and fractal transfigurations, Mark. Clever, I say, clever use of the b & w line work deposited within the scenes. Cool parthenogenetic birthday dedication in this one. Hope you're enjoying your sabbatical.

You have made me chuckle Mark with this wonderful way to wish Mike a happy birthday, you couldn't have given him a better one. Super work and I am sure Zlata enjoyed her trip to your gallery too. I hope your sabbatical is going well and that you are getting your health back too. 😄

very cool art work and dedication for Mike. from looking at the thumb I can make out a cartoon like face of a male on the top right hand panel. when I look at it in full I can not make it out. it is funny on what our eyes see can be misinterpreted by our brain

What an inventiveness, empathy, and focused attention you here shows again, Mark. Again, this is impressive, both in image, if you phraseology. Very often you use the purple tones, and always that lovely personal touch to others to surprise as quite pleasant. This again is a great example of a so personally made gift, in this case, for our good friend and artist, Mike.

Born on 3 consecutive days?? I'd like to know how he managed that...... I'll have to ask next time we chat... I guess anything's possible when one dwells in Fae Valley...

HRH Queen Zlata looks like she's having way to much fun - and they say Royalty doesn't know how to kick things up a notch...

A wonderful and fun work of art, Mark! A great dedication for out good friend Mike!

What a terrific dedication for Mike! :) I knew he did the Queen Zlata thing, but the only thing I've seen of his work is his photography. I'll have to make a point to check out the rest of his work. I had no idea he did fractals! See what we learn here? :)
