Description

I have been taken astro photos for years. I at one time had acess to a 16 inch Celestron in a dome in Michigan. These were taken with a tiny 90 mm Meade telescope and a great Olympus digital camera. Notes of interest the there is a meteor strike that went sideways and the image in the lower right corner is the Great Nebula in Orion.

Great pics. I have a meade 8" 2000mm SC. I've used film cameras and have gotten so-so results. I live in the city now and have light pollution problems and haven't shot in years. One of these days I might invest in a CCD device.

I grew up looking at stuff through a beat-up old second hand telescope of dubious manufacture. I was able to see Saturn (and its rings) Jupiter, and the Gallilean satellites, as well as Mars, and Luna...and I have to say that this collage brings back a strange mix of memories. It would seem that scientific discoveries at an early age led to most of what defines my life now, and I'm glad for that wonderful glimpse back coincidentally provided by this collage. I have yet to attempt astro-photography of any sort on my own, but this is definitely inspiration to do so. I love the details here, and the familiar "faces." Superb work.

WOW... what a really interesting subject to photograph, simply spectacular results and collage - the Nebula is the most striking one for me, never seen it like this before, keep up with this great hobby ! BB p.s...I would also like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU for your kind birthday wishes, Greg.
