Well, to me these are very interchangeable. You need ID to buy ammo and just about every politician is bought and paid for. Personally I don't see anything wrong with people having to show ID's for voting, the excuses being tossed around are BS as far as I'm concerned. Just to show just how lax this crap is, even here in Arizona (not a hotbed of liberal thinking) one form of acceptable ID at the polling place is a utility bill. You sure as Hell don't need to be a citizen to have the power turned on, all you need is an address. So why is this acceptable? Any place I've lived (many different states in the west) you're pretty much required to have ID on you at all times. The police have the right to ask you for your ID depending on circumstances. You need ID to cash a check... Hell, you need ID to get a bank account. So why is this a big deal? I've heard all of the nonsense about it targeting poor people and minorities and it's just that... nonsense. Sure, metropolitan folks who don't drive or even have cars certainly are not going to have a driver's license but I don't know of a single state that doesn't issue their own picture ID cards. I now return the soapbox to the next viewer... ;)

A pointed image - I believe that the US has more guns per capita than any other country.

Without bullets to protect our rights, we will not be able to vote.

I'm all for reasonable gun rights. But anyone who thinks that citizen guns will protect their rights from government takeover is laughably naive. Since the landing of the Mayflower, not ONE round fired on US soil has ever secured a vote. Besides: If you can't even get half of the citizens to vote, GOOD LUCK getting them to fight. Never happen.

Finally. We're back to being a world leader at something. USA! USA! WHo knows what we could do if we made it easier to vote, rather than harder!

oddly enough... recent stats show that Canadians own (legally) more guns than Americans (legally) at one tenth the population size..... and yet our murder rate is waaaay down.... odd that... maybe we're doing something different that works... just a thot... strong image, none the less!

I thought I commented on this. Sorry about that. A powerful image and sentiment. I like Chris Rock's take on it. Don't ban anything. Just make the cost of each bullet $5,000. "I was going to shoot you but your ass just ain't worth it."
