Description

In English: Oh, Christmas night, more beautiful than the days. This is the title of a kind of round dance from the play "Gijsbrecht van Aemstel", written by Joost van den Vondel, one of the most famous poets of the Netherlands. (1587 - 1679) Gijsbrecht van Aemstel was performed on the occasion of the opening from the Amsterdam theater of Van Campen, around Christmas 1637. I kept the Dutch text of the Christmas song as title. For whom is interested in the text of the whole song, here is the original text in old Dutch. This form of Dutch language has long been outdated. This is an older fractal, which I have given a new look. With this I wish all of you a very blessed Christmas, full of warmth, inner glory, love and peace. Thank you very much for all your lovely words, which I appreciate so much, as for your kindness and friendship, it means a lot to me.

We have something similar, in "Oh holy night, the stars are brightly shining." This is a Christmas fractal, indeed!

I wanted to translate this on the web, but I've had little time to do it properly, unfortunately, because it is an older form of Dutch, and my translations were poor. But your image captures a beautiful spirit, which flowers outward, emanates outward from the center, and ends in stars and lights. It's almost a view of a huge concert hall, from above, where we see all the balconies jutting into the picture; with a huge chandelier on top. And lots of stars. It captures the meaning of the title---an infinite and ever-expanding universe of Christmas and Christ, with lots of beautiful layers and lights and offerings. A beautiful image, Jacomina, and I hope your Christmas was blessed and filled with blessings. I have to stop here only because I'm at almost an hour, now (and I must go to sleep). But I've seen your other Christmas image, which is beautiful and filled with lights and 'lanterns' and wonderful shapes. And of course I saw (and commented on) your beautiful dedi to Helle. (Is there a word, in Dutch, for "dedi"? I'm sure you have "dedication," but "dedi"? It's such a strange word!) And I saw all the others before this. If I don't come to your gallery before the New Year, I wish you and Karel a wonderful New Year, and I hope that 2018 brings you new and wonderful blessings and joy. You deserve them all.

Oh its like looking up at the ceiling of a church, celebrating Christmas with a well known carol "Oh Holy Night".

I imagine the notes and music rising as the song is sung in this beautiful fractal Mies.

Seeing the falling snow through the glass is a perfect added bonus.
