Description

Part of a project for a suggested public library. Modeled in 3ds Max, rendered in Infinite (with GI). I guess it could have been done without using ecosystems, but they sure helped me do the plant work in seconds rather than hours. people who do this kind of renders for a living might appreciate that. :)

excellent modelling and an almost photographic render. I wish they would improve the grass though, its too coarse and never looks real (not your fault I know). Back on topic, this is a superb render and shows how the program can be used in areas other than art :-)

I agree with cermit, with one but...maybe soft shadows on the foreground leaf shadows...even a bit of blurriness as it sorta jumps out as 3D rather than real...but really good models...maybe a HDRI render would have brought that together..Infinite does have that...correct?..still on demo of the 5Pro myself but I seem to remember seeing that there...You are absolutely correct about using ecosystems...I would that I could.....LOL

Excellent lighting and texturing work, as usual. I feel like going to read a book. Bravo Eran.

Excellent photorealism. I think the grass looks good here, surprisingly, as I really agree with Rids about it. Now your ivy is absolutely stunning, did it yourself, if so which software did you use? ( Xfrog I bet!) Maybe you should've used soft shadows, as suggested by bobbystahr. Really impressive work.

This would make an outstanding presentation - and frankly it would be a rare client that paid any attention to soft shadows. I did this kind of presentations for awhile - and this is excellent - yeah, that eco sys thingy would have made life easier! Very well done.

I doubt that anyone who isn't also a 3D Artist would be able to tell it's not a photo. They don't notice the same things we do. This is a phenomenal image! :-) I haven't had the opportunity to use Infinite, but the grass looks great to me. And some parts of the country/world do have rather coarse grass. Bravo! V

High quality render ... GI and Radiosity make Vue a top render engine. Along with all other features, we now have such a range of possibilities ... landscapes, indoor and outdoor lighting, ecosystems, animation .... I won't buy soon another 3D software ... Briliant demo here Eran ... oh and my two cents about soft leaves shadows : yes a bit of softness could be more realistic ... but I'm not sure ... :-)

Very nice stuff, even without the soft shadows!

Thanks to all of you for your comments. Considering the soft shadows issue, well yes, I plead guilty :) It's true that even though clear sunlight produces rather sharp shadows, they do have a tiny bit of blur on the edge. However, to get this effect, I would need to use very large shadow map resolution and sampling rate. Which adds more rendering time to an already long render (Due to the combination of GI, large reflective surfaces and high antialiasing level). So I gave up on this, being more or less content with the result. But hey, next time, I promise not to let go :)

Perfection ! Just radiosity could add some light to parts that actally are pitch black - if you could render it with radiosity I would be greateful for such comparison :-) HUGE EXCELLENT & VOTE

I love art that looks "photo real" and it's wonderful to see how the eco system can help save that valuable thing called time! Beautiful image that just grabbed me on the way by! :)

Super to see Erka riding again. So good to see more of your stunning images again. This is no exception, perfect light for this subject. I don't mind the not so soft shadows here, sunlight can be quite sharp sometimes. A fantastic image to say it again.

Wonderfully done. Your use of ecos is what I believe they were deisgned for...rather than placing a hundred plants, and the lighting is superb abeit the shadows as mentioned. Most excellent. V
