This is not such a great image - But a interesting enough of an event - Taken this past summer - Out of the corner of my eye a rustle and movement - Quickly I turned - Totally unprepared and not even quite sure of what was happening I manage these two shots of this heron attacking a goose - I was about 40 - 50 yards out - As the Heron struck the goose they went to the ground in the underbrush to the right of the log jam and I lost sight at that point - I have to think that because the Herons where nesting with young the attack was a protection instinct -
