Description

This is a cinnamon Polyporus Muchroom growing in the rock garden near our mailbox. Thank you Bluart for the ID. About 10 years ago, we had a hurricane that knocked down a Mahogany tree. The tree was removed and this mushroom is growing on a section of rotting root. Photo taken Thursday. Do zoom. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

I agree with Mike. It is very architectural looking, and almost like a sculpture. Most attractive! I feel as though it should be some sort of container, although it wouldn't be much use for peanuts or paper clips!

I'd go with some sort of bracket fungi although they don't usually grow out of the ground, nice shot.

Could be one of the Sheflike mushrooms, but I don't see anything in the book that looks like this one. Strange one for sure, but I've been seeing a lot of strange ones this year. Maybe it's been all the solar flares we've been having during the summer. Mutations! If it gets up and start walking or talking, RUN! ;D LOL! Excellent find and capture! :)
