Description

Air plants have been attached to clear fishing line, in a courtyard, at the Bok Tower Gardens, in Lake Wales, Florida. Air plants will grow anywhere but do best in the shade. Direct sunlight will dry them out in time so notice that there is a sun screen above this courtyard display area. We were eating lunch on the patio and this was our view. I will show you a close up of that unique walkway in my next post. Do zoom. Still catching up with commenting while converting everything to my new laptop. Thank you for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favorites and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

I could not eat in peace. I would have felt threatened by a fleet of aliens. I've never seen this type of plant. Great find and fantastic capture, Dana.

A different and original type of curtain, but it wouldn't do much good when it comes to blocking the view.

Very unusual and cleverly thought out and it needs a zoom to fully appreciate the beauty.

That's something I never would have thought of and I have to say that I like this idea! Air plants are such odd things--epiphytes of a sort, I suppose, in their native environment, and a really interesting idea for a curtain, or at least the suggestion of a curtain. Well seen!

A big thank you for this shot It must be just for me, I have some hanging on wire it always surprises people when you pick up a ball of plants on a wire. My display plants stand outside in full sun but they seem to like a little shade when under glass. In the wild they grow on trees but also on cliffs ,cacti, roofs, phone lines and even on rocks in deserts.

Great picture. Glad you were able to go there and see this. These are amazing plants, I've lived with them all around our yard and the woods all my life ( that I have lived so far). There was a few years when I was in California and New Jersey that I didn't see them. See ya next time.
