Description

There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs — Ansel Adams Eventually I reached the end of what I wanted to say about compositions. One rule is not mentioned, and I want to emphasize that rule concluding this series. This rule is: break the rules when necessary!!! Never let your creativity be restrained by lifeless rules, but always give way to your creativity, because it's you who's shooting, and every shot is an unique signature of yourself! Do you want to learn more about composition? There are many websites showing the way, a good start for example can be found at http://photoinf.com explaining composition far better than I can do that. Above all, have fun shooting and give way to your creativity, exploring your boundaries, and post them here so we can all learn from your acquired insights! Thank you so much for your serious attention and your encouraging comments in this triptych! I want to express my deep appreciation for your reactions because they have been very valuable! Enjoy your Sunday! Minolta X-700 (Agfa CT 100, 150 mm)

Thank You! I figure I broke the rules because I'm really unsure what they are and if I know them too well, I would be constrained and it would be no fun anymore. I will however, visit the link you provided and continue to admire your work! It looks like this was quite a climb, awesome! Have a great Sunday, Jackie

An excellent view. I suspect it was not an easy "stroll" to get there! It looks rather cold too. Thanks for the wonderful presentation.

I agree with you on the Rule bit...... my saying goes...... or leme try and remember who said it...... hmmmmmmmmmm......David Ogilvy...... the father of Advertising.....Rules are meant for obedience of fools and guidelines for wisemen. I have stuck to this quote since the day I read it. Working for the Government authrotiy.. Rules and it's application become very important and very sensitive too..... I have always used a simple rule of thumb.......... Bend a rule, if necessary.......don't break it. All said........ this is really an interesting composition my friend. Something different that I see compared to your usual mountain scape. Your cam always seems to be looking up. Here it is taking a down view.........:P:P. Pardon me for what I am going to type next. This scene somehow makes me want to pee..... I feel like peeing from the hill top down on to the village down there.....heheehehee...... sorry, I couldnt resist the temptation.:O))Cheers!!

Glorious shot and view .. holy buckets!! Loved your inspiring words ... so beautifully written... thank you................ My husband just was mentioning Ansel Adams... and was impressed by his work, so together we looked him up online .. he's the guy that can do amazing things with an image .. wow, talk about creativity!! Thank you, too, for the link. I'm going to check it out now.

As the information operator once told me when the Parents Without Partners chapter had folded, "they were all bad parnets." When you want to eat ice cream don't accept frozen custard, and when you want to eat frozen yoghurt don't eat frozen sherbet.

as I told an artist here that a big part of being a great photographer is being able to discern what is photogenic and although she had limited experience she has the eye for it. no doubt you have it also and of course great subject matter can not hurt

:) I've been known to break a rule or two :) But the trick is you need to know the rules first to break some of them :) Wonderful photo.
