I don't know if C4D supports advanced lighting, but you should definately use it in your scene! Part of your geometry is kinda lost in that shadowy area. I suppose you've used shadow map here. Why not make area light (and shadow)? I think it would be perfect for this scene!

Nice. Did you use "Matrix Extrude" on this ?
Of course he did. Its matrix extrude on a sphere, beveling all faces afterwards. And Cannonball is right. For sure it would have looked much better with advanced render, preferably radiosity and some caustics. But it is neat as it is. :)
I like it even if its "just" matrix extrude.
Cool concept............ quite a scary feel to this one......... looks fairly malevolent and could do a lot of damage if it came to life.......... excellent work...........
