One of the many expansive hallways at the Palace of Versailles. This particular hallway lead to the theater; used for operas, plays, etc...

I love the contrast of the floor tiles and how the light coming through the arches gets progressively brighter further away. The statues take away from the symetry which adds a whole other level. I also like how you framed the photo slightly off-center. Great work!

Thank you cynlee. It was cold and overcast (this was February in Paris) and most all of my images were taken in black and white. Truth be told, I have a bit of colorblindness, so black and white always makes more sense to me anyway. :-)

I really like this one -- I don't know if you have ever seen Union Station in Washington, DC but this really reminds me of there. Beautiful clarity to the photograph.

I've not been to Union Station. Odd that I've been all over Europe but have never visited the US Capitol. Sounds like a weekend trip may be in order...
