The trip into the Southern Empires started with a voyage down the coast, and Ruth promised herself once they reached dry land again that she would never, EVER go on a ship larger than a river barge again! Disembarking in the port city of Cisroe the three stayed the night in the Port Arms Inn. Janrielle spent the evening learning about the city's recent conquering by a northern warlord, who apparently was in the process of carving his own empire out of the Duchy of Urevan and a neighboring duchy. "All over an insult to his wife!" the portly innkeeper had whispered, glancing about as though an apparition would appear and kill her on the spot. Few travelers were on the road, and by the third afternoon they were approaching the mountains. Having memorized the way during her meetings with Lydia, Janrielle took her companions down a side road, which lead into the edges of the forest. And thus, they came to the Home of the Harvestide, temple and monastery of Maileen. "You know, I think someone's been redecorating." Eliese said quietly as the three looked over the ruins...
