Description

Here's a chain I'm working on. I had started a long render with 13 lights, but it went wrong 3 hours in. So here it is on my standard still life setup. I'm still looking for a great looking oily metal texture, so may well render this again. Thanks for looking.

I bet finding textures is the hardest part for you. You make this seem easy, yet I know it's not. I've always been impressed by your work and I still am. Excellent Phil!

Fantastic modeling & textures - the tones are very rich & realistic. And a very elegant composition as well...

real good one. for the oily look just take a photo of a oily chain off a bike to get the texture; might be a start ;then you can play with it to get your texture right. you made have to put two photos together . Just an ideal

I agree with DJ, love the floor texture. The modeling almost goes without saying, excellent job...have to be a bit longer to run much though...kidding. Great job. :)

Love the wood and oily metal textures. [Just thinking of painting some gloppy oil-streaks on the table to really upset the missus... but that would be perhaps toooooo realistic for comfort, eh? ;-)]

looks excellent, although there do seem to be some artifacts around the non-screw round parts on the top
