Description

This is probably the worst photo I have posted here, but I wanted to share it because I never realised blackbirds had whiskers before! The 100-400L only focuses down to 6 feet & I was 5 feet away here, I got carried away (greedy?) in the moment when the blackbird didn't fly away as I got closer & closer. Hence a lot of dodgy post-work to get some of the image in focus. Apologies! EOS 20D, ISO 800 (very dull day as usual!), F5.6, 1/50s handheld (& breath held!), 100-400L @ 400mm. Full frame image (no crop).

one of your 'worst'? Gosh ... you dont give yourself enough credit .. I love this shot! I'd love to be able to get this type of closeup shot of any bird. So, there. ;-) I didn't know black birds had whiskers either! Or maybe they do but this one is too lazy to groom himself. lol
