Description

Chess sets are great things to model and render for practice. Drac is helping me, but I'm not listening to him. So this still has a lot of problems (the wavy reflections, the lack of caustics), but I thought gallery worthy for now. I like the reflection and refraction in the top of the nearest pawn. Modelled in Wings, rendered in Yafray. Back to the drawing board to get rid of the wavy effect.

The heads of the pawns are excellent. It looks like a lot of work; worth it,of course. Very impresive to someone like me who knows nothing of rendering.

keep the wavy effect, it models the imperfections we see in ourselves on a daily basis. Or maybe it just looks neater than if it were completely perfect. (Or maybe I'm just falling on old writings of mine to make you feel better about an image) Gotta love the obligitory chess set, I'll have to build one someday.

It may not be mathematically correct but the wavy effect actually adds to the image for me, and makes it feel less mechanical. Super image.
