They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but this is worth a full length novel! There's so much going on, and all of it is bound up in a very dark atmosphere that you've managed to convey superbly in the rendering.
I wonder how this masterful scene would have looked if the sun was a volumetric light... Perhaps you've tried this option as well... Anyway, this surely doesn't detract from such an excellent achievement. Bravo!
