Description

The top of Ben Lawers. Perth & Kinross ^^/\^^ All last summer I've been grumbling about the misrable weather. The last two weekends have been a real tonic, there is hope after all. Ben Lawers is just under 4000ft. A while ago there was a huge cairn built at the top in an attempt to bring it over the 4000ft mark. It was soon removed by the powers that be... some people have too much time on their hands eh?

Just a little petty to remove the cairn, and yes they must have too much time in their hands, I hope it was very hard work for them lol. Another wonderful Munroe magic, love the ice on the trig, and the touch of cloud inversion. Impressive "V"

Looks as if a thaw was on the way at the top, Aangus. Nice to build the occasional cairn, as long as one has patience. I reckon it will take about 23.7 million years, at the persent rate of cairn building, before Tinto Hill near Biggar, qualifies as a Munro. Mind you I have heard tales that the local farmers have electric fences now, allegedly in order to stop the livestock straying, not the hill-walkers from gaining access ( of course ). Regards, John.
