Description

This is a collaboration work on the Monte Carlo NASCAR. I model the exterior body, undersides components, and some front internal components while another co-worker worked on the interior and wheels. The 2D deco is provided by another co-worker. With all said and done, I combine all the model elements together, map, and texture the model. I then drop the NASCAR into a backdrop scene, setup the lights, and all the rendering parameters. Mutiple parameters of renderings are done and one is selected. This one turned out the best so enjoy the image.

As a painter/admin/moderator for a nascar website (nascarnet.com) I consider myself an authority, so here goes. The model itself obviously shows a lot of skill and effort. However, it is inaccurate. The front air dam is incorrectly shaped, it needs a concave curve to it. Around the hood fender area, there is not a dip where the hood and fender area meet. The grill area is also not shaped correctly. From the windows back all appears to be correct. The 2d texture as far as the scheme goes is pretty acccurate for 2004 season. But, the headlights are way wrong and the grill looks like a 2000 Ford. But, as I said obvious effort was put in to this model, and I commend you on that.

Ranman38 :- thank you for pointing out some of the inaccuracy and I have to say that I might get some comment about the work. At this point all I can say is that the model is done the way it is for a certain reason. Yes, there are good amount of inaccuracy but it is done on purpose. At this point I just wanted you guys to enjoy the rendering and the art that goes into it. Cheers.
