Description
I just had to play some more.
Upper left is a slightly enhanced image of Notre Dame Cathedral-Basilica in Ottawa. It's across from the Museum of Art -- that's why the flag poles.
It was a foggy day in Winter, and the brass monkeys were nowhere in sight. So some fool had to take a long lunch and take pictures.
Upper Right is the same image but with a very slight 'impressionism' filter treatment. You get the idea. We are walking through the various treatments and I could not make up my mind which to post.
Right after the 'impressionsm' filter, I applied the 'elephant skin' texture with brown background.
Then I pasted the original image on top of this. The trick here, again, is to paste it and then to click on another button before finalizing the effect. We want to go to the 'creative' selection to get the 'vignette' tool BEFORE finalizing the selection. THIS is what keeps the vignette in transparent mode. You can see this much clearer in this image. The tops of the bell towers show the crackle effect of the elephant skin because they are showing through the transparent vignette. The center of the building has no crackles because it is the overlay image.
Bottom right is the same image, crackles and vignettes and all, treated in an Adobe application where I called in the 'old photo' filter and selected the 'spots' option. Also added the white border.
Enjoy; thanks for viewing.

gotta play!! really like the top right of these! :]
Nice composition ! Excellent
I pass this church everyday on my way to work. It's a nice structure to look at. It's also the oldest church in Ottawa.
you do like to play dontcha? lol
Thank you all for the comments. You are incorriging me to no end to try odd stuff. I'm looking for a suitable image to try more 'sketch' effects on.
cool effective shot and excellent presentation!
Interesting how 4 effects can each evoke a new story; bottom right says the most to me....
i love the photograph. and i really like to see the different treatments you are applyin to them, i would suggest one thing.. the bottom two photos? really give the building a nice "antique" look (not that it needs it :) but u know what i mean.) i would suggest Ps'n the car away from the front of the building. I honestly believe removing the "feel of today" from the photo would benefit it immensely. i think that the views of the building (no matter which effect you go with) will benefit from that :) but thats just my opinion. i still rate it as excellent :)
