Description

In the earlier days of flight, mountains could be serious obstacles. Often the only route through them was through the high passes, as the planes of those times could rarely fly over the higher peaks. Sometimes, when the weather suddenly began to close in, it became a race of life or death. Hopefully, these two guys will get over the pass before it becomes immersed in clouds. If that happens, they may well hit the sides of the pass. Background picture is a Net freebie. Sorry, I don't know who provided it. Everything else modeled by me in LightWave 5, Bryce 5, and Poser 5. My next posting will give you a closer look at the plane and aircrew. Thanks for looking. Jeremy

Well done. The sky and mountains do look good with the plane in flight. I'm wondering how you came to have the wing in a "V"? Nice pic.

The wing, along with the mid and rear body and tail section were modeled in LightWave. I made the "V" shape there, just to have a variety of wing shapes. No special reason to do it that way; it was just something a bit different. Also, I forgot to say that the radial engine was also a Net freebie.

You did a really good job on the propellor, something that a lot of people find hard to do. The plane needs some decels though and perhaps a little more detail.

Cool work on the lousy weather, the propeller looks real good this time.. The textures on the plane could be more realistic tho
