Description
This was done also for Johan's challenge at imagine3d.org. The background book failed but I left it in to remind me to do it in real life as i have those materials and am going to use them for my sheet music and it will be a multi-ring binder type so I made the second one for the challenge.Every page is modelled and there are 180 2 sided pages in there. The cover was made from an extremely hi poly flattened cube, and the indentation in it was modelled by pushing points around. It's lit with one SoftShadow light set to intensity 500, and 255 iterations to see how it looks, with a brownish fill light. the table top is a map of some metal used as a colour, reflection, and ambient map.....worked o k .

oh yeah...there's 2 guitar picks in the mix as well. modelled by me at great poly expense as well...LOL

Hey, Bobby - can you open the cover of the back book, and fan out your individual pages? My book is just two clumps made using conform to path, not individually axised ??? (lol, made up a new word)pages. I love the reflections! - now, you just have to post the words to the writer's gallery (-:

All the textures are perfect and modelling too. The cover picture is very well inspired and match with the title. Maybe more anti-aliasing would avoid the moire on the pages sides. Do you use the NewAA, it works well in this case, Threshold0 and raylimit between 10 (fast and good) and 30(quality).
