You know, Im almost ANGRY that this is so good!!! This may be your best yet. It is slightly different than your usual style. I love it so much I could scream! How the heck does this guy consistently come up with such brilliant images??? I love the fact that it looks like melting snow. You could have called it "Spring Thaw". Rating:Beyond Excellent

Great textures! Couldn't attest to the intended sentiment, but ya know, you don't really being to develop realistic expextations until your third or fouth marraige...

WOW!!!! Your graphic sensibilities are amazing!!! I love this!!! The Flat tones and textures on everything, and then that shiny gold ring! Fantastic composition, love the juxtaposition between shapes and textures! The metaball holes! And that horizontal texture brings out the depth perfectly!! Fantastic!!! Fantastic!!! Fantastic!!! Fantastic!!! Fantastic!!! Fantastic!!!

Well, the title and a wedding ring. SO, like ddruck, I don't know what to read into that. But Kris seems impressed, so that's all that counts. It's a great picture.

Beautiful composition. Great metaball modeling (as usual), erosion & melted snow effect. The only question I have is whether you intended the ring to be suspended at an odd angle defying gravity? If so, then no problem. But it seems to me that it would make sense for it to be hanging from that protruberance, which it clearly is not. A minor point to be sure, but those are the kinds of things I notice & that nag at me.

i really think i would like these metalballs... the ring does look like it's about to drop... may get lost in the snow... almost ominous & precarious... the whole thing looks fantastic! :]

Metaball -holes-?? How is this possible? I thought metaballs couldn't be used in boolean operations? If so, tell me how! Great work Joe.

Negative Metaballs, Drekinn. They displace normal metaballs dependent on size. Terrific, EngleWolf. But I'll bet that gold ring is a torus, not metaballs.

I like this image....To me it has meaning even though it is almost abstract. The snow can melt away much like love and emotion. The ring remains flawless and within the idea of marriage, it can last forever. The rock ages and over enough time transforms and takes new shape, much like two peoples lives together, but there is always a chance the ring will fall away and be lost forever. Thats what it means to me at least. You have great vision!! ~ Ryan

Cool idea, leads to many different interpretations and meditations. Is it the "One Ring to rule them all" or just someones ring ? Got my vote, excellent!
