Description

Well, it took me a whole day, but I did it. It's not perfect, and I can sorta see a couple of lighting purists telling me this and that ain't right, but I tried to match it as close as I could. So there it is, my entry into this month's challenge, Mother Technology. The idea sprang to my head when reading about Deadalus and Icarus, and since I hadn't put Robbie in a scene yet (the original idea being him coming out of a robotic red-light district), I thought I should do something about it. Wings3D for Robbie, rendered in Bryce. Basically the only thing not 'rendered' was the forest, which was photoshopped in over some yucky-type hills that I didn't end up liking. The tree line at the water can be looked over as it's not one of my best photoshopping jobs. Textures are from animax.it (the stone, the sky which is a huge 2D plane in the distance), the balloon was also made in Wings and then the wire clumsily made in PS. The gull is something i found through google. It's not perfect, but it sure is the best thing I've done so far. So enjoy :) Drac

Details be damned! I find myself looking at Robbie's smiling emoto-conveyor and smile myself. I wish I was that happy and carefree. Me personally, I'm all too aware of the cliffs these days...

What more can you ask...a serene scene with a happy mech. Nice mats on the rock & great job with the gull.

Earth to E~ Here it is: The image of the face on the tiny screen of of the robot reveals that he feels traped inside a box. What he longs for is to be in the world, rather than being detached from it and viewing it remotely. The tiny pelvis reveals his feelings of inadiquacy, and the he will never be able to let his sensuality and desires - represented by the baloon - so obviously a sperm cell, fly free. In short, he longs sexual contact, but he feels that he is inadequate to ever get it. He's afraid he'll always be at that screen, looking at what others have, but he cannot. He longs to let his balloons fly.

**Free! Free from the robot factory!**Well that's what it looks like to me.

Might try sneaking this pic in at a graphics place that looks at you funny when you mention the b-word in regards to your renderer. ;)

Lol.... this is great Drac. The textures on the rock are most excellent and the motoin blur on that seagull is exquisite. Excellent work man. 8)

Very nice composition. The expression on the robots face is brilliantly hilarious.

Oh no! He better stop running. Where's his mom?! I think it's very cool. And just halved my chances of winning since there are at least two entries now.

=) great work with the POV.. maybe a little too much blur to the back.. it doesn't take anything away from the image at all.. and it also gives it a great sense of movement.. just a little bit much blur in my opinion.. nicely laid out !! =)
