Description

Since ZBrush doesn't allow anything to be created "outside the scene," the sphere didn't have anything to naturally reflect. Instead, I used one of Escher's self-portraits. I felt that it was appropriate to actually have him looking back at you from the sphere.

is this... is this a zbrush modelled hand? :o wow! have you tried to import a "zbrush made" .psd texture (of a room for instance) in the materials modifiers &/or render scene palette? i believe this could do the reflections you are looking for even if its not done in the same document... however: to capture Eschers magic glance is a great idea! thank you for sharing that one! :)

:-) Thanks. The hand wasn't modeled in ZBrush. I use Poser 4 to create people (or parts of them) and then import the OBJ as a tool. As Pixolator has pointed out to me, I still need to work a bit on getting the smoothing right. I knew that I could have used a picture of a room for the reflection, but I felt that since this was a tribute to Escher it would be more appropriate to use his self-portrait instead. (The fact that it came out a little spooky was a welcome touch. LOL)
