Description
The weather's been so good in the UK lately that I've hardly TOUCHED my PC, let alone taking time to make any renders...however, I thought I'd get myself back into the swing of things with a quick half-hour render of our blue planet. The basic idea comes from a 3DS Max tutorial I found somewhere, but I translated it to C4D.

How very beautiful our planet is, from this perspective. Very nice, great impact. :))
How did you make that atmosphere!? Looks great, Really wanna know.
Very nice indeed:)
Excellent work, atmosphere seems to be very realistic..
Thanks for the comments! CyborgGuineaPig - the whole thing is made with a series of spheres (obviously!). There's a water sphere, a slightly larger sphere that holds the earth map, then a larger one for the clouds, and finally one with a larger radius still that acts as the atmosphere. The atmosphere is textured with high-transparency, plus some glow and a graduated noise. Superb. 5+.
